October 23rd Tips & Techniques: Learning the Ins and Outs of your cCamera

For October’s Tips and Techniques meeting, Evergreen Camera Club members will be sharing their experience with their digital cameras with beginner and intermediate level photographers. Experts are welcome too to help spread the knowledge. We expect to have break-out groups for Nikon, Canon, and Sony cameras as these are the predominant brands members are using. We’ll go through the basics of setting up your camera for the way you shoot and for the kinds of subjects you are trying to photograph. If we have beginners who need guidance on setting aperture, shutter speed and ISO we’ll spend time on that. For others who have that down but need more help with some of the deeper menus, we’ll go through those and share our own settings and preferences.

Don’t forget to bring your camera!

Join the Evergreen Camera Club in person in the auditorium at the Evergreen Fire and Rescue Station (1802 Bergen Parkway, Evergreen) on Wednesday, October 23rd for 6:30 pm social time, brief announcements at 7:00 pm with T&T to follow. There will be NO Zoom option.

New members, students and guests are welcome.

Tips & Techniques: Do You Need a Permit to Photograph on Federal Public Lands?

If you routinely (or even occasionally) shoot in National Parks, National Wildlife Refuges, US Forests or BLM lands, this session is for you. About 10 years ago Congress passed a law that requires federal land managers to issue filming permits for photographic and video use of public lands. (Note – this doesn’t apply to state or local parks).

Permits fall into two major categories and photographers are often confused about needing a permit or which permit to acquire. This presentation will walk through the situations and circumstances such permits are required, inter net links, and general advice from a photographer and retired National Park Superintendent.
