October 22 T&T: Photographic Society of America with Bill Vogel — PLUS Monthly Contest

PSA is a worldwide organization for anyone interested in photography.
Founded in 1934, for casual shutterbugs to serious amateurs and professionals.

ECC is a PSA CLUB
Bill will discuss how the PSA can help you grow as a photographer with STUDY GROUPS and many other benefits to the individual including the annual photo meetup. There are also several educational programs available such as Macro, Still Life, Architectural, Night, Portrait, and more.

PSA has several divisions for photo competitions: Nature, Travel, Photojournalism, 3D and more. We as a club are entered in the Nature Division and we are considered a SMALL CLUB as we have 50 or less members. Last year we competed against 20 clubs and came in the middle of the pack at the end of the season. Bill will outline this year’s competition dates and submission guidelines.

Join Bill and the Evergreen Camera Club in person in the auditorium at the Evergreen Fire and Rescue Station (1802 Bergen Parkway, Evergreen) on Wednesday, October 22nd for 6:30 pm social time, brief announcements at 7:00 pm with Bill’s presentation and contest to follow.

February 26th 2025 T&T: Long Exposures – Light and Magic with Tyler Beck

by Dick Oltman

Long Exposures – Light and Magic
Instructed by Canon Product Educator Tyler Beck.

Create new worlds and expand your creativity when you explore the wonders of
long exposure photography in this 1 hour 30 min class where you will discover the
possibilities of using a longer exposure AND how to accomplish each technique.
After all…“It’s still magic even if you know how it’s done.”― Terry Pratchett, A Hat
Full of Sky —

Tyler Beck is a Canon Product Educator and has been shooting photos and video for over 20 years. He’s loved to capture day-to-day life through photography and video since the day he picked up his dad’s camcorder. He has been fascinated with the power of storytelling through imagery and is passionate about spreading the knowledge of how to capture memories that will live on through the digital age.

This class is designed for beginners and anyone who would like to expand
their horizons and take advantage of learning a new technique.

Note: due to the length of this presentation we decided not to do a contest this month, look for contests to resume in the March T&T.

Join Tyler and the Evergreen Camera Club via Zoom only on Wednesday, February 26th for 6:30 pm social time, brief announcements at 7:00 pm with Tyler’s presentation to follow.

New members, students and guests are welcome.

October 23rd Tips & Techniques: Learning the Ins and Outs of your Camera

by Tom Goldberg

For October’s Tips and Techniques meeting, Evergreen Camera Club members will be sharing their experience with their digital cameras with beginner and intermediate level photographers. Experts are welcome too to help spread the knowledge. We expect to have break-out groups for Nikon, Canon, and Sony cameras as these are the predominant brands members are using. We’ll go through the basics of setting up your camera for the way you shoot and for the kinds of subjects you are trying to photograph. If we have beginners who need guidance on setting aperture, shutter speed and ISO we’ll spend time on that. For others who have that down but need more help with some of the deeper menus, we’ll go through those and share our own settings and preferences.

Don’t forget to bring your camera!

Join the Evergreen Camera Club in person in the auditorium at the Evergreen Fire and Rescue Station (1802 Bergen Parkway, Evergreen) on Wednesday, October 23rd for 6:30 pm social time, brief announcements at 7:00 pm with T&T to follow. There will be NO Zoom option.

May 22nd 2024 Tips and Techniques: Field Trip to a local Alpaca Farm

Thanks for being patient waiting for the details for this rare opportunity to photograph alpacas. The logistics were complicated!

Come to an alpaca farm with five delightful alpacas, ducks and chickens. This will be a great photo opportunity. Please note: Alpacas are curious but shy, ask the ranch owner before touching them, they can be skittish.

You must RSVP for this field trip. Limit 10, we do not want to stress out the alpacas. RSVP at RSVP@evergreencameraclub.com. This is a member-only field trip.

Meet at 6:00 pm on Pleasant Lane, next to Fire Station 7 on Highway 65 just south of I-70. Bring your camera and medium-to-wide focal length lenses, please no tripods. Wear old clothes and comfortable shoes. You may get spit on or step in something!
