Harry Sherwood – Cropping and Making your Photos POP

Harry Sherwood – Cropping and Making your Photos POP

Have you sat there listening to the ‘judge’ comment on photos and hear him/her say, “I feel this should be cropped…..”. There are usually always a ‘reason’ for this and I want to show you why. I am hoping that I can teach you to ‘read’ a photograph and hopefully you will return home and go through your photos and make them much better for yourself and be proud to display your photos to others. But more importantly, it will teach you to take better photos to begin with and you will love your camera more and love your photos more too. I hope to give you some ‘formulas’ and a ‘check list’ to follow for taking better portraits, scenes, hummingbirds, star/night photography, flowers, action, architecture, flash photography, lightning photos, macros. I will also cover depth-of-field and basic Photoshop tricks. I will have lots of examples to make it easy for everybody to understand.

I have asked and received several photos from club members to ‘fix’ for them. I hope they will be impressed with what I did to their photos. There are about 7 in particular, so far, that were nice photos and I feel they are now award winners. Come and see what I did. At least 2 I did not change … come find out why I did not. If you have a photo that you like but you feel needs help & is missing something, send it to me and I will include it in the program (I will not say where the photos came from). Attach your photos as an attachment to an e-mail. Send the original … under 5 meg is ideal. If you are not sure, send it anyway … I’ll do my best to get it in the program. Send it to: hsherwoo@aol.com …. Please send before Sunday….

See ya there.
Harry Sherwood …. Often called Mr. Cropmeister.
