Ron Ruhoff biography
I was born in Minneapolis, MN where my father and grandfather both were musicians in the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra. They played viola and piano. I never took to learning to play music, but always loved being around the orchestra and music. I learned the classical repertoire very well.
My family moved to Denver, CO in 1952, where my father continued his symphony playing with the Denver Symphony.

Colorado really sparked my interest in photography and I worked at this along with my electronics background. Photography, travel, and knowledge of music led me to develop a series of programs called PhotoMusical Adventures. These covered my travels, mountain climbs, back-pack trips and visits to the National Parks of the west. I eventually joined the Denver Symphony and other orchestras to show my slide programs on a screen hung above the orchestra. The first such show was the Grand Canyon Suite, performed with the Denver Symphony in 1973. In 2006, I met Paul Schiller of Boise, Idaho and we collaborated in concert in the Boise area that year. He played his piano rendition of the Grand Canyon Suite along with my slide presentation.
I have lived in Evergreen since 1965 in the same place with my wife Pam. Pam and I have three children and 5 grandchildren, all in the Denver area. We actually live in Clear Creek County, up the Squaw pass Road west of Bergen Park. I worked 40 years for AT&T, between 1960 and 1999 and have been doing professional photography since 1960 as well.
Between 2000 and 2004, I worked on the Georgetown Loop Railroad as conductor and brakeman on the trains. This year, 2009, I am back working as conductor on the Georgetown Loop. I also drive buses for the Seniors’ Resource Center in Evergreen, CO-since 2005.
Over the last 48 years, I have presented my PhotoMusical Adventures slide programs to audiences in Evergreen and the Denver area. I now photograph in digital, as well as 35mm slides and 4×5 film. I have had my photos published on many postcards, calendars and for advertising.
