STEVE JOHNSON WILL BE THE PRESENTER AT OUR APRIL GENERAL MEETING

Steve Johnson enjoys wildlife photography with an emphasis on birds and specifically birds in flight. He also enjoys landscape and nature photography. Steve belongs to the Englewood Camera Club were he has served as the president and now serves as the VP of programs. He is also a member of the Depot Art Gallery in Littleton and was recently featured in Mike’s Camera Blog: http://mikescamerablog.com/totw-birds-in-flight/.

Steve will be presenting “Colorado Raptors – How to Successfully Shoot these Amazing Birds” at the April 13th meeting. Check out Steve’s work at his website: http://stephenjohnson.pixels.com.

Steve is a Colorado Native as were both his parents and both sets of Grandparents. He grew up in east Denver and went to college at Colorado State University. It seems Steve was always interested in photography. His first camera was a Kodak Brownie. In the 1970’s Steve purchased his first SLR, an Olympic OM-1. Soon after, he built a color darkroom in his basement. In 2000, he was approached by Kodak to be part of a focus group on a new digital camera. In 2008, Steve purchase his first DSLR., a Nikon D80. From there Steve has graduated up the line to newer Nikon models and now shoots with a Nikon D700, D7100 and D7200.

Following the main presentation, members participate in an anonymous critique and contest. Photos for the competition are due Monday 8 a.m. This month’s theme is “ Around Town.” For more information see www.evergreencameraclub.com. Evergreen Camera Club meets on the second Wednesday of the month at Bergen Park Fire & Rescue Auditorium, 1802 Bergen Parkway, Evergreen, CO 80439. Doors open at 6:30 PM. Meeting starts at 7:00 PM. All skill levels are welcome. There is no charge to visit a club meeting. Annual dues are $15 or $20 for a family if you become a member.
