Pat Gaines has been a resident of Fort Collins for 23 years and an avid photographer for 10 years. He has been the featured speaker at the Loveland Photographic Society, the Fort Collins Digital Camera Club, and the Colorado Mountain Club, where he presented techniques in night photography and astrophotography.


Pat Gaines has been a resident of Fort Collins for 23 years and an avid photographer for 10 years. He has been the featured speaker at the Loveland Photographic Society, the Fort Collins Digital Camera Club, and the Colorado Mountain Club, where he presented techniques in night photography and astrophotography.

“I’ve always been drawn to the visual arts, and in 2005 bought my first digital camera and two lenses. Since then, photography has led me to a variety of different interests, including birding, wildlife ecology, travel, storm chasing, sports photography, astrophotography, and most recently, portraiture. There is always something new and exciting to try, and always something amazing to see. I enjoy researching and finding that next animal, comet or scenic landscape, and love sharing with others what I’ve found. Photography has inspired me to explore my world more thoroughly than I ever had before. I hope that my work brings some joy to you, the viewer, and maybe even inspires you to set out on an adventure of your own.”
