Do you know the difference between Archiving and Backup? The distinction is important to understand for ensuring your data is as well preserved as you think it is. Tom will discuss some of the best practices for protecting your images both for the immediate and long term. He will review alternatives for where to store your media and the advantages and drawbacks of the various options. A show and tell of some of the tools used will be included.

Photographing Alaska’s Wildlife
Award-winning wildlife photographer Dawn Wilson is Evergreen Camera Club’s speaker on Wednesday, October 11. Her presentation will focus on photographing the wildlife of Alaska with a particular focus on summer and fall seasons. Dawn will cover special travel considerations for Alaska, what to expect when photographing in Alaska, tips for successful photography, a little background about wildlife in Alaska and its similarities to Colorado wildlife, and where to photograph wildlife in Alaska.

Kathy Snead Is a photographer living in Golden, Colorado. She specializes in flower, bird animal and general nature photography and is a member of the Evergreen Camera Club, 40 West Arts District, Evergreen Artists Association and the Gilpin County Artists Association. She is also an active member of the Naples Camera Club, The DPI-SIG camera club in Naples and the online group, NaturePhotographers.net.

When the Bennett’s spoke to the Evergreen Camera Club this past March, they knocked our socks off! Their program on Landscape Photography and image critiques were incredibly valuable — so much so that we asked them to offer us a workshop and they agreed!

Join Doug and Laura Bennett on Saturday, Oct 14 at the Evergreen Fire and Rescue Building (1802 Bergen Parkway, Evergreen) from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm with an hour break for lunch, for a workshop that promises to be informative, inspiring, and fun!

Evergreen Camera Club looks forward to presenting Bob Maynard as the August 9th speaker. Bob is a national award-winning nature photographer with images appearing in Audubon, Images magazine, Rocky Mountain Raptor Center publications and in several corporate offices. He is past chairman of the Louisville National Juried Photography Show and provides photo tour, photography workshop and corporate wall art services in Colorado, the Everglades and Utah. Bob offers single and multi-day workshops that are custom tailored to each individual.
