Since 1979, Glenn Randall has combined his love of wilderness and adventure sports with a passion for photography. His intimate knowledge of the landscapes and sports that he photographs allows him to find the intersections of magical light and stunning subject matter that produce exceptional images. His work has been published in Audubon, Avalanche, Barnes & Noble, BrownTrout and Sierra Club calendars and in Audubon, GEO, Outdoor Photographer, Outside, SKI, Los Angeles Times Magazine, National Geographic Adventure, New York Times Magazine, and many others.

The Theme for the January meeting photo contest will be Winter Scenes. This includes Holiday celebrations, winter landscapes and winter sports. Enjoy and remember you have to enter the contest to be eligible for the month’s usage of the Kelby Training prize.

Andy Long is an award-winning photographer / writer who devotes his photography work to the beauty of the world around us. As a leader of workshops since 1994, Andy likes to help people explore new areas and to go home with a memorable experience as well as great images.

SATURDAY, NOV. 19, 2011 ANNUAL FIELD TRIP TO PHOTOGRAPH BIGHORN SHEEP

Bighorn Sheep Field Trip Scheduled Saturday, Nov. 19

This will be our 4th annual Field Trip to photograph Bighorn Sheep in the rut. As in past years we will meet at Starbucks along I-70 at Downieville and break into groups of 10 or so to drive to the best viewing locations. I will be scouting to map the prime locations Friday morning so we’ll have a fair idea where to find the animals on Saturday.

Here’s the tentative Plan for Saturday:

• Meet for coffee at approx. 6:30 AM at Starbucks I-70 at Downieville; leave Starbucks in 2-3 groups by approx. 7:00 AM.

NOVEMBER CONTEST – ANIMALS
