The photo competition theme for Feb is “Winter Scenes”, includes ice sculptures. (The Breckenridge field trip on Jan 31 will be a great opportunity to get some of these shots.)For those who would rather not do this assignment, you may submit in the Open Category.

Title: Travels and photography in Iceland
A long time resident of Colorado, Steve Goodman has been photographing the world’s animals and birds for more than thirty years. And, horror of horrors, he still uses Minolta and Sony equipment. In real life he is a physician and biochemical geneticist at University of Colorado School of Medicine. His work can be seen on his own web site, at www.artworknetwork.com, and at the Reed Photo-Art Gallery at 833 Santa Fe, in Denver.

Our November speaker will be Evergreen-based author and photographer Mike Strunk. He’ll be sharing photos and talking about his soon-to-be-published book “Butch Cassidy and the Outlaw Trail”. As his theme deals with the wilds of the west that surround us, our assignment this month will be to shoot an historical site or create a photograph that tells a story of our Wild West. Mike Strunk – “Butch Cassidy and the Outlaw Trail”
About Mike
A longtime resident of Evergreen, Colorado, and award-winning photographer, Mike has photographed open lands, ranches and historic sites throughout the West for over 40 years. During this time, he has amassed more than 100,000 images in his personal archives.
Mike owns Sagebrush Photography, Inc., works part-time for the Mountain Area Land Trust to protect open lands and is on the board of directors of the Jefferson County Historical Society. Mike published his first coffee table book, “Portraits of Preservation” in 2007.
