Bob Dean is a freelance nature and wildlife photographer. With his wife Nadine, he has been photographing the natural world for over 35 years. Their stock file has nearly 10,000 images ranging from Alaska to Australia to Europe.

They have published many images and articles in magazines and newsletters including F8 and Being There, Falcon and Wild Outdoor World. Bob was an assistant editor and featured photographer for First Light Monthly Newsletter for Nature Photographers for over three years.

The Tips and Techniques meeting this month will cover basic photography concepts concentrating on exposure. We will look at various camera settings to allow the camera to properly expose an image while maintaining some control (shutter speed, f-stop or ISO…) over the camera. The session
will be targeted towards DSLR owners, but point-and-shoot controls will be covered as well. We will also have an opportunity to hear a few words from a freelance photographer for the Associated Press, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, etc.

Tips and Techniques for April will feature experimenting with digital conversions to black and white. We’ll explore various ways of creating black and white images from original color digital images using Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. Presenter: Willie Gibson

Willie Gibson has been shooting throughout the US, Mexico, South America and Europe for over 30 years. He has established a reputation as a respected and recognized talent in architectural photography, and has created beautiful images for residential homebuilders, architects and designers, resorts and golf courses. Willie’s images have won dozens of awards for major homebuilders across the country. Many of Willie’s resort and lifestyle images have appeared in travel and leisure publications.
