FALL COLORS FIELD TRIP
Field Trip will be organized/led by Harry Sherwood, entitled Fall Colors. Harry has some set routes, knows great places to stop for breath-taking views, beaver dams, etc, and if the timing and colors cooperate… a very fun trip is guaranteed with great photo opportunities. MENTORING SESSION – September 23
Mentoring Meeting – Tues 9/23 – will be led by Charles Dirks. Post-processing topics will include masking, burning/dodging, blurring backgrounds, and vignetting. All certain to increase our skills in a friendly and information rich environment.
7 PM at Evergreen Fire Station #2 in Bergen Park. Social time begins at 6:30.

The Public is invited to attend our next monthly meeting when our Guest Speakers will be Wildlife Photographers and Tour Leaders, Cathy and Gordon Illg. Their work has appeared in nearly all of the major nature publications and some prominent travel magazines, including Audubon Calendar, Birder’s World, Men’s Journal, National Georgraphic Traveler, and Sierra Club Calendars. Their wildlife images also decorate the tails of several Frontier Airlines’ jets.

Field Trip Committee – brings your attention to the upcoming Balloon Festival at Chatfield State Park.
No official ‘club’ meeting location has been established, but event runs Friday, 8/22 thru Sun. 8/24.

AUGUST 12 MEETING – Mario Corvetto, Guest Speaker
A native of Peru, Mario is co-founder of “Andean & Rainforest Expeditions”, “Mondo Verde Expeditions”, and the “Evergreen Photo Alliance” stock agency. A multi-ligual, award-winning photographer, he has donated his time to NGOs including the American Refugee Committee, Catholic Relief Services, and World Vision International to create image banks to raise support for people traumatized and displaced by war. He has also worked on assignment with UNICEF to promote issues of children’s rights, nutrition and health care.

AUGUST ASSIGNMENT
Theme for August coincides with the “Annual Mt Evans Hospice Calendar” competition.
Last year, several member photos were selected. Official deadline for calendar submissions is Monday, 8/25.
